In the past four years, Karin Wandner has helped us to get to know our bodies in ways we never thought possible. She has made us aware of our strengths and limitations and increased our balance and flexibility so that we can function physically far beyond the capabilities of our contemporaries. Yes, we are “seniors” (ages 68 and 74) but we’re not old. Her classes have kept us involved and we are able push the envelope without fear of pushing too far. I injured my back while I was trying to lift weights without much experience. I saw an orthopedic surgeon who introduced me to a chiropractor who in turn introduced me to Karin. I began receiving twice-weekly lessons from Karin and was able to eventually recover from my injury as well as work on prevention of future injuries. Karin has excellent knowledge of the anatomy and body mechanics in addition to her extensive background in pilates. This combination makes her extremely effective in working with students of different levels and she has been able to develop a plan that is effective while still maintaining the comfort level of a beginner client such as myself.
